Ms. Chern Meng Gaik began her career in December 1995 with The Pacific Bank Berhad (now known as Pacificmas Berhad) as a Management Associate. She was promoted to Assistant Manager in June 1997, where she was responsible for corporate client portfolio analysis, marketing activities, and the delivery of specialised training programmes for electronic banking products.

In November 1999, she joined Salcon Berhad (a company listed on the Main Market of Bursa Securities), as Corporate Assistant Manager. Over a 25-year tenure with Salcon Berhad, she held several key senior leadership positions, beginning with her promotion to Corporate Manager in August 2001, where she managed corporate affairs and project development. In January 2007, as Senior Manager, she expanded her portfolio to lead investor relations and business development initiatives in China, while also providing support in the areas of compliance, risk management, and internal audit.

In January 2017, she was appointed Head of Corporate Affairs / General Manager. In this capacity, she led the establishment of the group's Sustainability Governance Structure and Framework, leading stakeholder  engagement initiatives and materiality assessments to support the Group's long-term ESG integration strategy. She also served as a member of the Board Sustainability Committee from 2017 until her retirement in May 2024.
