Madam Moong Kin Yong began her career in 1987 as Test Engineer with National Semiconductor Sdn. Bhd. (now known as Texas Instruments Electronics Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.), where she was responsible for conducting final outgoing quality control test on integrated circuit.

Later in the same year, she relocated from Malacca to Kuala Lumpur and joined Harris Advanced Technology (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (now known as Stats Chippac Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.) as Final Test Engineer, where she was responsible for quality control testing of products transferred from the United States, Taiwan and Singapore to the Malaysian factory. She was also involved in various production process control systems and methodologies.

In 1995, she joined her husband's  business, Pakatan Dinamik Sdn. Bhd., where she served as Manager, Director and Shareholder, overseeing the overall business operations of the company. The company was subsequently wound up by way of a court order in 2023 due to financial constraints.

In March 2023, she began managing the business operations of DIC Trading Sdn. Bhd. as Manager, Director and Shareholder, and continues to hold these role to date.

In 2004, she joined Carpeton Industries Sdn. Bhd. as a part-time Engineer. In 2011, she assumed the role of Admin Manager and continues to serve on a part-time basis, where she is responsible for overseeing administrative and personnel-related matters.
