Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad ("MRCB" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that MRCB-Theta Edge JV, an unincorporated joint venture between MRCB and Theta Edge Berhad ("TEB"), 90% in favour of MRCB and 10% in favour of TEB, has been appointed the Turnkey Contractor for the Engineering, Procurement, Design, Construction, Testing & Commissioning and Maintenance of the Railway System for Projek Rapid Transit Aliran Ringan (LRT) Pulau Pinang - Laluan Mutiara - Package STC ("the Project") for a contract sum of RM3.028 billion.

The scope of the works includes the Electric Trains (ET), Depot Equipment (DE), Signalling & Train Control System (S&TCS), Automatic Platform Gates (APG), Trackwork (TWK) & Maintenance Vehicles (MV), Power Supply & Distribution System (PS&DS), Railway SCADA System (RSS) and Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Telecommunication System (COMMS) & Information Technology System (ITS) and Ticketing System (TS), to be completed in 68.8 months from the commencement date.

The Project is expected to contribute positively to the future earnings of MRCB Group.

The Project will be exposed to normal construction risks, including materials and equipment price fluctuations, however given its past experience and expertise in delivering large infrastructure projects, MRCB is well placed to mitigate these risks through its existing controls, measures and operational procedures.

None of the Directors and/or major shareholders of the Company and/or persons connected with them has any interest, whether direct or indirect in the Project.
