Datuk Wira Sr. Azmar has over 45 years of leadership experience in institutional investment, financial services, urban development and infrastructure. He currently leads Tun Razak Exchange ("TRX"), Malaysia International Financial Centre ("IFC"), where he has spearheaded the transition from master planning to the operationalisation of Malaysia IFC agenda, fostering an ecosystem that supports long-term capital, talent and innovation.

He is recognised for championing good governance, sustainability and Environmental, Social and Governance ("ESG") practices, including integrating ESG principles into TRX master plan. His strategic vision and commitment to governance and sustainability have earned him national recognition including the Tokoh Maal Hijrah Award (Melaka, 2025), for his contributions to institutional development. 

Datuk Wira Sr. Azmar is committed to academic development and serves on the Property Industry Advisory Panel of the University of Malaya and as an Ahli Program CEO@Faculty 2025 at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).

Prior to joining TRX, he served 18 years with Permodalan Nasional Berhad ("PNB"), holding various senior leadership roles, including Group Chief Executive Officer positions within the PNB Group. He led strategic acquisitions, corporate restructuring and turnaround exercises and oversaw the development of 13 major townships in the Klang Valley.

Since 2011, he has served as the Group Chief Executive Officer of TRX City Sdn. Bhd., where he is responsible for the comprehensive development of TRX. He works closely with financial regulators government stakeholders, and global institutions to position TRX as a trusted platform for regional and international finance.

He also led the procurement and planning of Bandar Malaysia, a strategic national development project, including the creation of advanced facilities for the Air Force, Army and Police Air Wing.
