| Working experience and occupation | Mr. Chong Kwea Seng has 39 years of experience working with Sime Darby Berhad. During his tenure at Sime Darby, he served as Sales Director and later as Managing Director of Sime Darby Industrial. Mr. Chong successfully led the company to receive the prestigious Caterpillar Global Dealer Excellence Award in 2015. Mr. Chong was a Senior Independent Non-Executive Director of Hap Seng Plantation Berhad until his retirement in May 2026. He also served as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Fitters Diversified Berhad from 2017 to 2020. Mr Chong is currently an Independent Non-Executive Director of MeGroup Ltd in Singapore. He is an Advisor to Subur Tiasa Holdings Berhad. In addition to these roles, Mr. Chong held several key leadership positions, including two significant assignments in China. His first role was in 2006 as the Managing Director of China Engineers Ltd., which was part of Sime Darby's Caterpillar business in China. Later, in 2011, he served as the Acting Executive Vice President of Sime Darby Energy and Utilities (China) in Shandong. Under his leadership, the company received Caterpillar Inc.'s inaugural Global Excellence Award in 2011. In 2015, Mr. Chong himself was honoured with Caterpillar Inc.'s inaugural Global Excellence Award. |
