The Malaysian Bar has defended its support for e-Jamin in May 2024, saying it was unaware that the bail payment system operated without a formal contract between the government and its operator, Dapat Vista (M) Sdn Bhd.

Two startling pieces of news surfaced last week about private companies that collect money on behalf of the government.

The operator of the eJamin system started talks with the government to finalise a contract in February 2025, about five years after it started running the electronic bail processing system for the courts.

KUALA LUMPUR: Dapat Vista (M) Sdn Bhd (DVSB), a subsidiary of Pertama Digital Bhd, has acknowledged the findings and recommendations of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) concerning the management of eJamin and expressed support for the completion of a formal agreement with the government.

The government is reviewing a formal agreement with Dapat Vista Sdn Bhd, the company that operates the eJamin system for online payment of court bail, before submitting it to the Cabinet soon.

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd has announced that Pertama Digital Bhd has been classified as a Practice Note 17 (PN17) company after meeting the criteria under Paragraph 2.1(a) of PN17 of the Main Market Listing Requirements.

Pertama Digital Bhd (KL:PERTAMA) said it has triggered Practice Note 17 (PN17) status after its shareholders' equity fell below the threshold prescribed under Bursa Malaysia's listing requirements, adding that the development does not alter its ongoing regularisation efforts.
